Louis Vuitton - I'll Never Get It

Am I the only person on earth who finds most of Louis Vuitton's bags absolutely butt-ugly? I feel like they are a joke played upon fashionistas. From the original ugly gold and brown logo-a-rama, to the ones that looked like they had graffiti on them; from the Murakami cherries to the hot mess above, I admit it, I JUST DON'T GET IT! Yes, most of their clothes are genius, and the plain bags are nice, but I just don't understand these bags. Is the point of carrying it to say "I was high up on the waiting list for this with the rest of the emporors who want new clothes and I have no problem spending thousands of dollars on a bag"? I mean, a Chanel 2.55 is forever, a classic; what the hell are you supposed to do with that LV bag in the photo for the rest of your life? If you get it, please school me. I really, really, really don't understand!

Hi! I'm a new reader and I must agree, I've never seen what is so appealing about these bags. Chanel is so very lovely.

totally agree. I never got it. And I assumed for the price that at least you were purchasing a good quality bag but a friend of mind had one as had to send it "to the shop" for repairs several times because the zipper kept breaking.

i do have to agree with you for the most part. but i am guilty for owning a couple monogram LV bags/purses. i never really liked the classic monogram fabric, but i do however LOVE the shape of most of the LV bags and at the time (over 8 years ago) they didn't have many solid designs.

the last 5 or so year i've pretty much turned to hating LVs classic monogram... i feel like now days too many people have them (real or fake) and its not as classic as i once thought. now it's just played out and hurts my eyes.
